Friday Faves 27 - Balloons!

I have been in love with balloons, big and small since I was a kid, especially the big ones, the ones you can fly in.

That love came about accidentally when I was very young as one early morning I heard a rather loud hissing noise and ran outside to see what was going on. My dad and I watched as a brightly colored balloon crash landed in our trees. A young man hopped out of the basket and my dad asked if he could give him a hand. The young man just smiled and asked if he could use our phone, which, of course, my dad showed him to. As the balloonist passed me he smiled and patted my head.

I was so impressed that he could walk away unharmed after falling out of the sky that I have been in love with hot air balloons ever since.

So today I'm going to share that love with you as we browse some Etsy shops with a similar love for all things Balloon.

To get us started, let's listen to that great old tune by The Fifth Dimension called Up, Up and Away. This video shows pictures taken at a Ballooning event. I have wanted to go to one of these for a very long time. It's definitely one of the things on my Bucket List to do.

Now, let's go shopping!

Balloon Shop Number 1
Shop name: Blue Butterfly Design

Now this would be the perfect way to head off on one's honeymoon! Talk about a cute idea for a cake topper! The colors are wonderfully vibrant too!

Balloon Shop Number 2
Shop name: Parker's Flour Patch

This is an awesome idea for a balloon themed party! These cupcake toppers are cute, brightly colored and look yummy too! You might could even stand them up in mini cupcakes to make it look like a balloon with the basket and all. But however you choose to use these, they will make a great addition to your party's theme!

Balloon Shop Number 3
Shop name: Stained Glass by Harvey

Wow, I just have to say this is one lovely balloon! I almost feel I could jump right in and take off in it! The intricacy and attention to detail in this piece is just breath taking! I would love to hang this right in front of my living room window.

Balloon Shop Number 4
Shop name: The Artwork of Renie Britenbucher

Here we have a gorgeous folk art painting that would brighten any room with brilliant splashes of joyous color. I think if you were having a bad day all you would have to do is take one look at this painting and your bad mood would be gone. My opinion of course, but this really is a cheerful painting.

Balloon Shop Number 5
Shop name: Backbone Studio 2

And now to complete our Balloon madness, we have a very lovely pendant that will go quite nicely around anyone's neck. You could even make a choker with it using some nice ribbon or purchase a copper ball chain in the shop. I provided a link to the ball chain as well. Plus, if you like them on Facebook you get 15% off your purchase! How cool is that? Very!

Darn! Friday Faves is already over for this week, and I was having so much fun. I hope you did too! Have you ever flown in a hot air balloon? If so I would love to read all about it in the comments.

Next week I'm starting my theme months, because we have a lot of fun holidays coming up, and of course I'll be starting with Hallowe'en. So mark your calendars and make sure to be back here next Friday when I show you how to put some Boo! in your Hallowe'en fun.

Until then, have a great weekend everyone and take care out there!
