What I Believe - Healing from Abuse

I just want anyone who has ever been abused or injured in some way by the cruel acts of another to know that there is healing. Life can be good again. You can have peace of mind.

Elder Richard G. Scott of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gave a loving talk on the healing process at April General Conference 1994. I believe it to be very helpful.

And I think that the following article, also produced by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, though aimed at Youth, can be helpful for victims of abuse at any age or stage in the healing process, even for those who may not be a member of this church. Simply apply the advice that suits your particular situation or support system.

It may take time, but healing will come. Be patient with yourself and know that the Lord loves you more than you can even imagine.

This is what I believe.
