Friday Faves 69 - Drums

Drums are likely the first instrument that man created. Maybe someone noticed that hide stretched across tent poles made an interesting sound or it could have been a hollow log that eventually became a way to communicate over long distances to a nearby tribe or group of warriors. But whenever and however man (or woman) discovered drums and drumming, we've been busily drumming away ever since.

Of course, to start things off we're going to listen to one of my favorite drummers, the late John Bonham of Led Zeppelin fame, in one of his drum solos known as Bonzo's Montreux:

Now, let's go shopping!

Drum Shop 1
Shop name: Addiction Drum Design

Just take a look at this gorgeous kit! The perfect combination of class, craft, and beauty!

Drum Shop 2
Shop name: Coryell's Craft Corner

What a clever idea! These would look great in a music room or man cave!

Drum Shop 3
Shop name: Oak Tree Arts

This is called a tongue drum and if you've ever heard or played one of these you know that they have beautiful tones. Great for children or adults!

Drum Shop 4
Shop name: Anderson Originals and Fancy Kitty Products

Bet you didn't see this one coming! This next "drum" is actually a drum carder for all of you wool and natural fiber lovers out there.

I hope you enjoyed that as much as I did. Please drop by for Music Monday when I'll share some of my favorite Led Zeppelin tunes with you and for Tuesday Tutorial when we'll learn how to make paper beads.

Until then, have a great weekend everyone and take care out there!

Love the drum carder! My sister just got the one my Dad made for her operational again, it needed a new belt. And I laughed, seeing the one on your list. Truly unexpected.

lol I thought it might take you by surprise in a pleasant way. That's so neat that your Dad made one for your sister, and I'm glad she was able to get it up and running again.
