I love the ocean. Some of my fondest memories are when I have been by the sea. I spent a few years with my Aunt and Uncle who lived in Neptune Beach, Florida. It was amazing! I loved the scent of the ocean that seemed to permeate just about everything. Oh, those nights sleeping beside open windows drifting off to the sound of the breeze through the palms. It has such a rustling, whispering sound to it. And, of course, I always loved it when I got to play in the sand on the beach and splash in the waves.
Later on, my older brothers sold boiled peanuts on the beach and I would get to tag along with them and in those days I was introduced to surfing. Those were my braver days! It's been a very, very long time since I was on a surf board, but I absolutely adored it when I was around the ages of 6 - 8 years old.
And then, nights when I was all grown up watching the stars fall beside the ocean with my baby. Sigh...
One of my favorite songs about the ocean is by Renaissance. I think their Sounds of the Sea will set the mood quite nicely for our Oceanic Shopping Spree.

The colors in this painting are so amazing! I love the blue! And there truly is such a sense of peace in this painting. It reminds me of the marshes of Chicopit Bay and around Ft. George Island in Florida. Gorgeous!

Alas, it's time to pack up our beach supplies and gather our wonderful seaside finds. Remember, let's leave only footprints behind as we finish up our day beside the beautiful ocean. Now, wasn't that a wonderful day? Don't you feel much more relaxed? I know I do!
Next week's Friday Faves we'll be splashing through the puddles as we take a long, wonderful walk in the rain.
Until then, have a great weekend everyone and take care out there!
