Friday Faves 53 - The Hobbit

Since the first of The Hobbit movies, An Unexpected Journey, is coming out later this year, in December, it's all things Hobbitish in this week's Friday Faves!

For more information about this grand event, check out The Hobbit Blog:

Scroll down the page when you get there, because I love what someone said about the Mayan Calandar. I completely agree!

And.. of course we can't have a Friday Faves without a little mood music!

Now, let's go shopping!

Hobbit Shop 1
Color Panda

A very classy Lord of the Rings style 'The Hobbit' poster that would make a great addition to your library or study.

Hobbit Shop 2

A little something for the kids or for anyone who might enjoy a more playful rendering of Smaug the Dragon from The Hobbit.

Hobbit Shop 3

I couldn't resist these plans when I saw them. What wonderful hours of imaginative play a child could spend in this very cute Hobbit House. I love the idea of a loving parent or grandparent actually spending time with the little ones as they build and paint the Hobbit House together. Obviously, little children can only do so much, but even if you only handed them a cup of water and a paint brush for them to feel like they are painting it could really create some quality time for you and them.

Hobbit Shop 4
Gilded Pixel

I just thought this was a very clever idea! I love the whole idea of having a miniature map and 'one ring' that you can carry around with you. Really great detail and a really fun little piece of jewelry!

Hobbit Shop 5
Yakka Productions

And this one? Well, this one just made me laugh. Good one!

And, if this week's Friday Faves hasn't proven my Super Nerd Girl Powers, well, I just don't know what will. I hope you enjoyed our adventure as much as I did and, the best part? We're not even late for dinner! ;-)

Next week we're going to pay a visit to one of my favorite divas, Stevie Nicks. So get out your favorite Leather and Lace outfit and your platform boots, baby, because we're going to be taking a trip with that famous Gold Dust Woman in next week's Friday Faves!

Until then, have a great weekend everyone, and take care out there!
